I was, irrationally, under the impression it was a soft GFE. If you're getting a hard GFE, the only thing I can think of that might cause that is that write-behind caching has not been turned off on the Windows setup on the machine doing the writes. However, I'm still hard pressed to envision how that would affect indexing on a standalone. Can you give me the hardware setup for the three machines, and what OS you're using and what network driver you're using?
